We are a community, a network, a community of women at Politecnico di Torino who are fighting to dispel gender stereotypes about STEM subjects. The heart of WeAreHERe is made up of female students, technicians and faculty who work every day to promote the enrollment of many new girls in the engineering faculties of PoliTO.

The acronym STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It is a term used to refer to science and technology disciplines. According to official UNESCO data for 2014 – 2016 only 8% of female students choose to study Engineering.

To dispel gender stereotypes. To get female students who have chosen this path, still identified as a “male” path, to talk to each other. To remind high school students that the path to female science is more than open. To present the Engineer as a complete figure, accessible to all, men and women.

In order to enter the degree courses of the Engineering area, it is necessary to pass an admission test: the TIL – Test In Lab. The test consists of 42 questions divided into four disciplines: mathematics, verbal comprehension, physics and logic. There are several sessions, from March to September; you can register and get more information by clicking here.
